Start Your E-commerce Business with These 5 Platforms

If you’re thinking about starting your own e-commerce business, this video is for you. Today, I’m going to share 5 websites that are perfect for launching your online store.

Before this, I’ve created several videos on various e-commerce topics, such as:

  • Where to build your e-commerce website
  • Best wholesaling websites for e-commerce
  • Where to find trending products
  • Which payment gateway is best, etc.

1. Shopify

The first platform I recommend is Shopify, widely considered one of the best options for e-commerce. You could even call it an “all-in-one” solution because it offers hosting, website design, payment processing, and security all under one roof.

  • Easy to Use: You can create your online store without any coding, using its drag-and-drop builder.
  • Built-In Apps: Shopify has apps for marketing, shipping, and dropshipping, making these processes much simpler.
  • Pricing: Plans start at ₹1499 per month (approximately). I’ll include the link in the description.

2. Amazon / Flipkart

Both Amazon and Flipkart are open marketplaces where anyone can list products for sale.

  • Ready Traffic: Unlike having your own website—where you’d need to invest heavily in marketing to drive traffic—Amazon and Flipkart already have an established customer base.
  • Documents Needed:
    • GST (Goods and Services Tax)
    • FSSAI Registration if you plan to sell food items
  • Commission: These platforms usually charge a commission ranging from 5% to 20%. For instance, if your product sells for ₹100, they might take up to ₹20 as fees.

However, I’m going to share a zero-commission platform shortly, one that doesn’t even require GST and offers more traffic than Amazon or Flipkart. Stay tuned!

3. Social Media Platforms

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I’ve promoted several clothing brands in the past. These brands simply showcase their products on social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook, and they easily receive around 40-50 orders every day.

  • Ads: By running paid ads on social media, it’s possible to ramp up daily orders to 200+.
  • Recommendation: If you’re thinking about starting an e-commerce business (or you already have), you should start posting your products on social media to gain organic reach and direct sales.

Now, let’s talk about that commission-free platform that doesn’t require GST.

4. Meesho

I’ve previously made a detailed video on Meesho, explaining step-by-step how to create an account (show a brief clip or reference).

  • Zero Commission: Meesho doesn’t charge any selling fees.
  • No GST Needed: You can list and sell products here even without GST.
  • Tier 3 & Tier 4 Audience: Meesho primarily caters to customers from smaller cities, which is a huge, often untapped market.

5. WooCommerce

Finally, WooCommerce is not a stand-alone platform but a plugin that you install on a WordPress site to create your e-commerce store.

  • Complete Control: WooCommerce gives you full ownership and flexibility over your online store.
  • Customization: By using themes, plugins, or a developer, you can tailor your website exactly as you want.

I have another channel called “Prakash Bhaiya” where I teach website building and digital marketing. If you’re interested in learning more about these topics, feel free to visit and subscribe (briefly show the channel).

Conclusion

These are 5 platforms/websites you can use to start your e-commerce journey: Shopify, Amazon/Flipkart, Social Media Platforms, Meesho, and WooCommerce. Choose any one (or a combination) that suits your needs and start building your online presence.

If this video helped you, please give it a like, subscribe to the channel, and let me know in the comments which platform you’re planning to use. I’ll see you in the next video—until then, take care and keep hustling!
